Release Notes 48: Take Away is Back and Better Than Ever!

This release brings a host of minor improvements and bug fixes to ensure a smoother experience across the platform, but the focus is on the enhanced return of the takeaway feature. After receiving several requests from our valued partners, we have reinstated and improved this functionality. Takeaway is a game-changer for many food delivery businesses, offering greater flexibility and convenience to their customers. This release includes key updates that will streamline operations, improve the customer experience and ultimately drive better results for your food delivery business. Read on to discover how the new features can benefit you.

1. General Information about Takeaway Settings

With this update, the takeaway feature can now be enabled in two ways: either for the whole marketplace or for individual vendors. If you enable it at a vendor level, customers will see the takeaway option at checkout for that vendor.

However, vendors who operate a dropshipping model will not have access to this feature, so it cannot be enabled for them.

An important note: if takeaway is disabled at marketplace level, but a vendor enables it for themselves, the vendor's settings will take precedence and the feature will only work for that vendor.

2. Customer App and Web Marketplace

To make pickups smoother and more transparent, we've improved the order flow in the Customer App and Web Marketplace. Customers will now see a clear status update when their order is ready for collection. The status page shows when the vendor has prepared the order, giving customers more control and reducing waiting times.

3. Vendor App and Web Panel

With the new update, the process for vendors has been refined to improve order management. After accepting an order, vendors must now mark the food as 'Ready for Pick-Up' once it's been prepared. This action updates the order status in the Customer App and Web Marketplace, informing the customer that their order is ready for collection. Only after the dish has been marked ready will the 'Pass to Customer' button appear, allowing the vendor to hand over the order. This streamlined workflow ensures clarity and efficiency when handling takeaway orders.

4. Call Center Panel

We've made it even easier for Call Center managers to manage and support takeaway orders. These orders are now clearly labelled with a special text marker, ensuring that managers can quickly identify them and assist with any related customer queries or operational needs.
